New Barron Island Development Considered by Committee Today

A La Crosse city committee today considers the latest development plan for an entrance to the city.  Jay Hoeschler's Water Place One group is looking to develop a corner of Barron Island just across the Cass street bridge.  The plan calls for two buildings, 47 units, condos and rentals.  Millions of dollars in development.  The group needs the city to sell a small chunk of land on the site that used to be a treatment plant.  The project would likely break ground sometime next year.  City hall staff have given the project an enthusiastic thumbs up.
