La Crosse County Loses Out On $27M In BadgerCare Funds; Walker Still Opposes Funds
A new report claiming Wisconsin has lost 200-million dollars in federal revenue that could have gone to BadgerCare apparently does not impress Governor Scott Walker.
The governor decided not to tie BadgerCare to the Affordable Care Act, claiming he doesn't trust the Obama White House to actually provide the money to states. And Walker still believes the program will fail, even after a state report showing how much potential money was lost by individual counties. La Crosse County could have had 27-million dollars more, according to Kevin Kane of the Citizen Action group.
The November referendums on Badger Care, scheduled in La Crosse and elsewhere, have been criticized as a partisan ploy to get more Democrats to vote in the fall election.
