Astroturf Featured At New School

The newly constructed Northside Elementary School in La Crosse is the first

in the district to feature astroturf not on a football field, but as a front lawn. Superintendent, Randy Nelson explains the district's decision not to plant grass.

Nelson says overall cost played into the decision as well. The usefulness and attractive appearance of most artificial turf lasts roughly five to 20 years.
