AVID Comes To Logan And Central High Schools

Freshman and Sophomores at Central and Lincoln high schools will have the

opportunity to attend what's called AVID this fall. A new program where they will learn skills that help them succeed in college. David Stoeffler, executive director of the La Crosse Education Foundation talked more about the program at a press conference Wednesday.

The La Crosse Community Foundation has approved giving a grant in the amount of $30 thousand. The La Crosse Public Education Foundation expects to cover the incremental start up costs for AVID, including some intensive training for district staff. At the end of 3 years, the district will assume the ongoing costs as part of its normal budget.
