Theft While Showering Illustrates Worth of Locked Doors
Want to help the police out a little bit? Try locking your doors. A number of home and car entries recently likely have La Crosse police wondering if the simple process of door-locking is becoming a lost art. The latest is enough to send a chill up the spine of any young woman. Cops say a 21 year-old Viterbo student was alone in her apartment and in the shower early yesterday evening when a thief walked in through the unlocked front door, stole her purse, a flat-screen and an X-Box and left without much of a trace. Took no more than 20 minutes. Cops have swabbed the place for DNA but, so far, no suspects.
