Onalaska Offers Help To Teen Expelled For Gun In School

It wasn't easy for the Onalaska School District to expel a student for bringing a gun to school this month...

Superintendent John Burnett says this is the first time a student was caught bringing an actual firearm into the high school. The school board voted to expel the 15-year-old from the district for six years.

Superintendent Burnett says the Onalaska district is trying to help the student's family find alternate schooling...but under the law, the district is not required to provide education to a student who is expelled.
