Help in Clearing Storm Drains Requested by City
As the temperature jumps today, the melt-off begins. Which, coupled with forecasted rain, could cause some problems on La Crosse city streets if the melting snow has nowhere to go. That's why the city's public works department is asking for help in clearing storm drains covered by ice and snow on the road. Streets crews can't get to all of them at once, says public works director, Dale Hexom, so if you live near one of the drains, consider it a civic duty to get out a shovel and go for it. Melting snow will be the rule for the next couple of days as temps will stay in the thirties through Friday. Frigid temps expected again on Friday night and through the week-end.
