Eco Park Plans Have Changed in La Crosse
Originally, there was going to be otters. And mountain lions. Bears. Bobcats. A whole mess of birds. That was what the EcoPark in La Crosse was going to look like when plans were presented to get rid of the old zoo in the park and turn it into something indigenous. And then there was big fundraising problems. Which have apparently become big enough for plans to change at the park. Now, the park apparently will have no otters, or mountain lions, or pretty much any other animal. Although the Eco-Park will continue to be an interactive educational facility. Parks board president and city council member John Satory says he likes the new plans for the Eco-Park but is a little disappointed that the otters aren't going to be there.
