Ethanol Study Shows Wisconsinites on the Fence About Fuel
If you like ethanol, who are you? A new study by the University of Wisconsin has an answer for that question. The study uses a large poll to determine that support for ethanol in the state is highest among people who were younger, more educated, Democrats and those living in a county where an active biofuels plant was located. The study also finds Wisconsinites in general have mixed emotions about the fuel, with more than half having doubts about the economic benefits of using ethanol. And the majority suggesting their support is dependent on how much the fuel either decreases mileage or increases engine wear.
2 More Could Go Down In Meth BustTwo more drug makers involved in a meth making operation at the Sylvan Glen Supper Club in Stoddard will face trial. 34 year old Wade McLees of Richland Center and 24 year old Cody DeLao of Lacrosse have both been indicted on charges related to the September 2010 meth making operation. Both are accused of making and selling meth with Cody Polus, Angela Davis, Travis Johnson and Amber Johnson in the supper club. Those 4 are already serving prison sentences. The pair face more then 20 years in prison and will go on trial in January. U.S.News & World Report’s 2012 America’s Best Colleges list includes UW-Lacrosse at number 2 for the second year in a row. But U.S.News also listed UW-L among A-Plus Schools for B Students. UW-Lacrosse Chancellor Joe Gow says the ranking continues UW-L’s trend of being ranked second or third among the Midwest’s public universities for the past 11 years. Truman State University in Missouri once again earned the top spot. . Eleva Man Dies In Truck CrashAn update now on a fatal crash that happened in Trempealeau County Friday afternoon. 40 year old John Lawson Jr. of Eleva died after his truck was hit by an SUV that had been rear ended by a semi on Highway 10 near Strum. Lawsons pickup rolled over several times and caught on fire. He had been thrown from the truck. The driver of the SUV, 66 year old Ronald Harper and the semi driver, 31 year old Jason Kluender, were not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. |
