A double-murder trial in La Crosse County could happen in May, but that's not definite yet.
The trial of Jeff Lepsch is tentatively planned for a week, beginning on May 6th. The starting date and length of the trial could be settled later this month. Lepsch is charged with the shooting deaths of Paul and A-J Petras at May's Photo in La Crosse. The father and son were killed in the store on September 15th.
La Crosse's Chamber of Commerce still has a greenlight to build new offices near City Hall.
A question about zoning for the project was resolved at last night's city plan commission meeting, so planning can move ahead on a Chamber building proposed for 7th and La Crosse Streets. The office proposal has been on the drawing board for years, but it's been stalled because of the economy. Ground-breaking is not expected for another year or two.
Three men accused of belonging to the 'Get Money Boys' gang are identified in court as suspects in a La Crosse home invasion.
Testimony from police was heard today, as Du Juan Jackson pleads 'not guilty' to helping rob a group of people at a home on 6th Street in October. Investigator Andrew Rosenow of the La Crosse Police says a second man, Areschial Page, has admitted to a role in the robbery. Page and a third suspect, De'aaron Appleton, were scheduled to enter 'not guilty' pleas today...but their hearing was postponed so they can still find attorneys.
