Agency director Cindy Killion says same-sex couples who get married in Iowa and Minnesota will be covered by federal benefits offered to straight couples. The benefits would still be provided to married gay couples in Wisconsin, if they were married in a state where those weddings are performed. Killion still hopes to change the gay marriage ban in Wisconsin, although that would involve multiple sessions of the Legislature.
Hunters and anglers who enjoy the riches of Wisconsin's land and waters now can enjoy another time-honored tradition at reduced prices. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Milwaukee Brewers are teaming up to offer DNR Days at Miller Park. Anyone holding any Wisconsin hunting or fishing license is eligible for discounted tickets on select home games at Miller Park in Milwaukee. In addition, each ticket purchased through the DNR Days program will include a free regulation blaze orange ball cap with the Brewers logo on it. The following dates are designated DNR Days: Friday, July 19 7:10 p.m. vs. Marlins Tuesday, July 23 7:10 p.m. vs. Padres Friday, August 2 7:10 p.m. vs. Nationals Thursday, August 15 7:10 p.m. vs. Reds Friday, August 30 7:10 p.m. vs. Angels Friday, September 13 7:10 p.m. vs. Reds Thursday, September 19 1:10 p.m. vs. Cubs Sunday, September 22 1:10 p.m. vs. Cardinals Terrace box seats, which normally are $24 each, are available for $17 under this program. Likewise, field outfield box seats which are normally $42 each, will be sold for $26.
