The Wisconsin Department of Justice has recieved over 37 thousand applications for concealed carry permits in the past two weeks.........and quirks so far?
Doug Dombrowski says some reasons some applications are being rejected include some out of state folks failing to enclose the required training affirmation forms and others entering incorrect information such as the applicants birth year.

If the city council is trying to keep the public safe, banning guns is the wrong way to do it.
La Crosse mayor Matt Harter's reasoning for vetoing an ordinance passed by the city council this month that would keep even those with licenses from carrying concealed weapons in city buildings. Harter says, since preventing those who would legally carry weapons from doing so would mean only criminals would have guns, the city would be preventing properly licensed gun toters from defending themselves and others. Look for a vote from the council to override the mayor's veto during meetings next month.
A newly appointed member of the UW board of regents is among those on a complaint filed by a watchdog group alleging campaign finance rules violations. Gary Roberts from Onalaska, big contributor to Scott Walker, was recently appointed by the governor to a term on the board of regents. According to a complaint filed by the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, Roberts is one of 29 big donors in the state who violated the annual 10 thousand dollar limit for individual campaign donations. Also on the list of those breaking the contribution limit, according to the group, Vicky Kunz from La Crosse, listed as a Kwik Trip employee.
