Semi Wreck Closes Highway For Hours

Written by

A Semi accident in Monroe County this morning detoured traffic for several hours and left quite the mess.

Just before 4, Ben Allen of Bangor was driving a Semi Tractor-trailer southbound on Highway 27 when he swerved to avoid hitting several deer in the road. The truck went into the northbound ditch though Allen was able to bring the trailer back onto the highway. However he was unable to keep the semi unit upright and it rolled over onto its side blocking the northbound lane of 27. Contents spilled? Thousands of glass jars.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
