(AP) A federal appeals court has upheld Gov. Scott Walker's contentious law stripping most public workers of nearly all of their collective bargaining rights.
No new referendum on fluoride in Holmen this April...
Village leaders have sent the idea of a referendum to committee, which means there's little chance it would get on the spring ballot. Retiring Holmen trustee Tony Horvath proposed a new referendum, claiming that the village did not follow legal procedure in going ahead with fluoridation after voters said 'yes' in 2008.
Another proposal from Horvath was approved by the Holmen board...to switch to a different form of fluoride which he believes may be less harmful.

The reigning Miss Alabama from the Miss USA Pageant was singled out for compliments by sportscaster Brent Musberger while watching her boyfriend play in the N-C-A-A championship game. Are pageant contestants annoyed by that kind of behavior? Recent Miss America contestant Kate Gorman says, it comes with the territory. Gorman, from Onalaska, represented Wisconsin at the Miss America finals in Las Vegas last week. She jokes that she hasn't been asked out for dates with college quarterbacks.
