Moss Guilty Of Homicide And Hiding A Body

Written by

Guilty on both counts...

That's the verdict today in the Cain Moss homicide trial.  The jury needed only two hours to decide that Moss was responsible for the drug death of Tony DuCharme in the summer of 2011, and for dumping DuCharme's body on a hillside. Moss is the last of four defendants in the case to be convicted. He'll be sentenced on September 19th.  The trial began on Monday.

A La Crosse jury is now deciding whether Cain Moss caused another man's death...

The jurors must determine if Moss was to blame for the drug death of Tony DuCharme two years ago, and if he deliberately tried hiding Tony's body on a hillside. The two had smoked drugs together, after which Moss left the house for two or three hours. Defense attorney Candace Tlustosch argues that Moss was very disturbed by coming home and finding DuCharme dead.  Assistant D-A Jessica Skemp countered that Moss had seen someone overdose on drugs before, and had plenty of time after DuCharme's death to decide what to do with the body.
