If you could add more places to fly out of La Crosse, where would you go?

The municipal airport is pursuing new non-stop flights...possibly to Dallas or Denver. The manager of the La Crosse airport, Clint Torp, says a Dallas connection through American Airlines is the top priority, and it might happen early next year, around February or March.  Torp is applying for government grants to help the airport expand its daily service. American and Delta provide non-stop flights now between La Crosse and the Twin Cities, Chicago, and Detroit.

If you're not seeing many mosquitoes in the La Crosse area this summer, you might thank the county's vector control workers...

Dave Geske with the county health department says his crew spent time early this year, trying to limit the mosquito hatch in the La Crosse River marsh.  Geske says mosquitoes were breeding 'tremendously' a few months ago, but bacteria treatments apparently worked to reduce the number of live mosquitoes we're seeing now.
