The Council Still Blocks A Possible City Run Ambulance For A Couple Years...But Won't Allow An April Referendum
The La Crosse Council is putting a city run ambulance plan on hold for at least the next two years. The Council has also decided not to permit an advisory referendum this April on the ambulance controversy. Councilman Doug Farmer initially backed an advisory referendum..but backed off last night when talk turned to a binding ballot question. The Council is going along with referendum petitioners...who wanted a city ambulance idea blocked. So the spring ballot question is not mandatory.
